Information Technology Department
University of Maragheh
The Information Technology Department (IT Department) at the University of Maragheh is the driving force behind the university's digital transformation and technological advancement. We are committed to harnessing the power of information technology to enhance academic excellence, streamline administrative processes, and foster a connected and innovative campus community. Our goal is to provide secure, efficient, and intelligent digital platforms that support the university's mission of education, research, and community engagement.
The Computer Center of the University of Maragheh was first established in 1998 with just six 286-model computers. Today, it has grown into a comprehensive IT Department that manages a robust infrastructure, including over 400 computers and 250 printers across the university. In addition to managing physical and network infrastructure, the department is responsible for the design, implementation, and deployment of various web-based systems, intelligent platforms, electronic service desks, and administrative automation systems. Furthermore, performing specialized tasks such as servicing, continuous maintenance, and regular backup of the university's data center and servers is among the department's key responsibilities.
The department also oversees the university's Data Center, the Information Technology Council, and the Information Technology Security Committee. In line with the university's commitment to smart education, the department has supported the launch of new virtual education systems, including an e-learning platform that enables online and offline classes, exam management, and file sharing.
